1store-bought angel food cakecut in half (length-wise)
1tubwhipped cream (Cool Whip)
Instructions
Macerate the peaches
Slice the peaches. Add them to a plastic food storage container with lid or a food storage bag.
Add the sugar and grated ginger.
Add the lid or close the bag and shake it well.
Leave at room temperature for at least half an hour.
Then put in the fridge until ready to assemble.
How to assemble the Ginger Peach Angel Food Cake
Cut the angel food cake in half, length-wise.
On the bottom layer of the angel food cake, use a spatula or the back of a spoon to spread the whipped cream.
Place 1/2 of the peaches on top of whipped cream, making sure to have them come all the way to edge so they can be seen.
Place the top cake layer back on.
Drizzle any remaining juices from the ginger peaches on top of the cake to soak in.
Spread with more whipped cream.
Top with the remaining peaches.
Add fresh mint leaves, if desired.
Notes
Use more or less whipped cream based on your preferences.You can customize this dessert even more by adding things like cinnamon, lemon zest, etc. You can also add in other fruits like strawberries, blueberries, mango, etc.Swap out the fresh mint for another herb if you prefer. Basil would be delish!
