Why you’ll love this strawberry prosecco cocktail recipe

The Strawberry Prosecco St. Germain cocktail has a pretty pink color and feels so festive. While a glass of bubbly is always great, this takes it up a notch (but without any extra stress).

The combination of elderflower liqueur and fresh strawberries creates an amazing flavor that is difficult to resist. Elderflower adds sweetness and a hint of floral notes that compliment the tangy strawberries perfectly.

Just a few ingredients are needed to make this yummy cocktail and the steps are SO simple. It’s a fun fruity twist on a classic champagne cocktail.

The prosecco adds fizziness and a crisp finish to the drink making it super sippable. It’s lighter than a bellini and fresher than a traditional mimosa. It’s a fun wine cocktail to make and share with friends. Try one out on your next girl’s night.

You know I don’t love to buy bottles of specialty liqueur (keep that home bar small!) but you probably already have one at home since it’s great in champagne. This elderflower cocktail with strawberry and Prosecco recipe gives you another one to make. Browse these St. Germain cocktails for more ideas.

Ingredients

Ingredients to make an elderflower cocktail with strawberry and prosecco.
What you need to make an elderflower cocktail with strawberries and St Germain.

St. Germain is a French liqueur made from elderflowers. It gives the cocktail a sweet and floral flavor that pairs perfectly with the other ingredients.

I like to use fresh strawberries but you could also use strawberry simple syrup. A flavored syrup gives you a concentrated strawberry flavor but also adds sweetness. So consider changing the recipe to use less sugar to still get a great, fruity flavor but not so much sweetness.

Lemon adds a really nice citrusy flavor that balances out the sweetness of the strawberries and St Germain.

Castello del Poggio Prosecco is a classic Italian sparkling wine that is super delicious on its own. It’s dry and not too sweet but really drinkable.

While I used prosecco, you can use champagne, Cava or any other type of sparkling wine.

Step by Step Directions

A cocktail shaker with a muddler in it next to a St Germain bottle, a measuring cup with lemon juice and a strawberry.

Step 1

Add the St. Germain, fresh lemon juice, and 3 strawberries to a cocktail shaker.

Step 2

Muddle the strawberries to break them up

Step 3

Let the mixture sit for 3-5 minutes for the flavors to come together.

Ice inside a cocktail shaker.

Step 6

Garnish the Strawberry Prosecco St Germain cocktail with a strawberry or a sprig of mint.

Tips

  • Let the mixture sit for a few minutes to allow the ingredients to infuse.
  • Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor.
  • Chill your champagne glasses before serving to keep the cocktail cold and refreshing.
  • I use a champagne flute because it looks super fancy but you could serve this cocktail in a wine glass or any other type of glass if you prefer.

Ways to make the drink your own

You can make this drink the same way but use raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries instead of strawberries.

Add a splash of cranberry or pomegranate juice for another layer of flavor.

You can make this with rosé sparkling wine instead if you want a little bit of a different flavor.
