How to Make a Dried Rose Petal Rim
Chop the rose petals.
There isn’t much prep needed for this aside from rough chopping the dried rose petals.
Dip the glass in rose syrup.
Then you just spin the edge of your cocktail glass or champagne flute in the rose syrup.
Dip the glass in the rose petals then dab the sticky edge in the dried rose petals. That’s it. Done.
Depending on how much syrup you end up with on your glass, it may start to run a little. I love things that aren’t super perfect so the drippy rose syrup looks really pretty to me.
Others may not love it so just be aware it can happen and wipe the excess off if you need to.
To Serve Champagne
Add the champagne, making sure to not hit the rose petal rim. And enjoy!
Most of the rose flavor comes from the syrup and not the rose petals. They look really pretty but if you aren’t into cocktail rimmers (I don’t usually love them – why do they have to be so messy?) then just skip it and serve the champagne in a plain glass.

Rose syrup is much thicker than traditional simple syrup but you can use it in a pinch. You can make an extra thick simple syrup at home by using twice the amount of sugar than water.
While you can typically add a glass rim by just wetting the rim, the rose petals are a bit heavier and require a little more to adhere on the glass. You could also try honey, agave syrup, or maple syrup although these will all add a little bit of extra flavor.

- 1 ounce dried rose petals, chopped
- 1 TBSP rose syrup
- Chop the dried rose petals so they are in small pieces.
- Dip the edge of your cocktail glass into a small dish or bowl with rose syrup.
- Dip the wet edge of the glass in the dried rose petals.
- Wipe off any drips then add champagne or a cocktail to your pretty glass.
