Why you’ll love this Eggnog Cocktail Recipe
An Eggnog Daiquiri cocktail is just what your holiday gathering needs!
Combining creamy eggnog, delicious vanilla ice cream, and a generous slug of rum, this easy cocktail is festive and fun to serve all winter long.
It’s no secret that Christmas Eggnog is delicious with a shot of something boozy mixed in for good measure. Its creamy, gently spiced flavors are just crying out to be spiked.
The eggnog itself is taken up a notch by blending it with vanilla ice cream for a thick, frozen eggnog cocktail perfect for sipping through a fancy metal straw.

Then white rum is added for that grown-up touch. I promise this will likely end up as one of your new favorite rum cocktails.
Finally, the top is dusted with nutmeg not just to enhance the flavors already in the eggnog, but so that you also smell the holidays every time you take a sip and the glass gets near your nose.
If you like creamy drinks like a chocolate egg cream, or even a generous measure of Bailey’s Irish Cream served over ice, you’re going to love this Eggnog Daiquiri recipe!
Ingredients
Here’s what you need to make this Eggnog Daiquiri recipe:
Use your favorite brands of vanilla ice cream and eggnog here as they make up the main flavors of this frozen eggnog cocktail.
I’ve used aged white rum here as I find it works well with the vanilla and nutmeg flavors of the ice cream, eggnog, and of course, the ground nutmeg (!) but experiment with your favorite rum as they’ll all taste both slightly different and delicious.
Spiced rum will have even more of those warm spice notes that should pair perfectly with the eggnog too.
Directions
Step 1
Add the vanilla ice cream and eggnog to your blender cup. I use this small-sized personal blender.
Step 2
Measure in the rum.
Step 3
Blend until just smooth.
Step 4
Serve in a glass, sprinkled with nutmeg.
Tip
You guys! I’ve never been that excited about light rum. But this Cruzan Aged Light Rum is so so good! It’s also very reasonably priced. I would absolutely use this in a mojito.
Variations
- Switch up the ice cream flavor – vanilla of course is the obvious choice to pair with eggnog, but other neutral flavors (e.g. something you’d serve alongside a scoop of pie) will add something a little extra to this Eggnog Daiquiri. A scoop of brown sugar ice cream would be absolutely delicious, as would one made with cinnamon ice cream, also sprinkling the top with cinnamon, instead of nutmeg.
- Experiment with spirits – rum is the obvious choice here, but vodka would be a good choice if you’re after a cleaner flavor. Bourbon would also be yummy, and Fireball tastes delicious paired with eggnog!
Frequently Asked Questions
Of course! Making eggnog from scratch sounds like too much work for me over the holidays (boo!) but this recipe looks like a classic.
I’ve kept things simple here by just sprinkling grated nutmeg on top, but you can always add a cinnamon stick or even a cinnamon sugar rim on the glass. Or browse more easy garnish ideas.
