While I love to use fresh ingredients in my cocktails, I typically just use store-bought lemonade when I need it.
- Lemonade
- Whiskey (or bourbon)
- fresh blackberries
- fresh rosemary
- cinnamon
- fresh lime juice
While the photos show Tangerine Lemonade, I can’t find that flavor any longer. Regular lemonade is still delicious! You could also try another flavor like Raspberry Lemonade.
Lemonade is a great base for cocktails because it has that bright citrus flavor and the right amount of sweetness to balance it out.
Definitely try this Rosé Lemonade!
You can also make your own lemonade. This Lavender Lemonade would be a delicious substitution.
I like to use Bourbon whiskey, but you could use any whiskey you already have that on hand.
This is such an easy drink. The hardest part is muddling the fruit and rosemary. And that’s not hard at all.
How to make this Blackberry Lemonade Cocktail
Add fresh blackberries and rosemary leaves (removed from the stem) to a bar pitcher.
If you don’t have a bar pitcher, no worries! You can use any wide-mouth pitcher.
And if you are just making one, you can use a cocktail shaker or glass.
Add a splash of lemonade to the berries and rosemary.
Use a muddler to break down the berries and get them to release their juices and flavor.
Add cinnamon. Because, yum. It’s subtle but adds a nice touch to the drink.
Sometimes cinnamon can make a drink feel like it’s meant for fall, but this one is perfect for any time of year.
You could definitely make this a little more holiday-ready by bumping up the cinnamon a little bit more. And even adding a touch of nutmeg.
And, of course, you can leave it out if it doesn’t sound tasty to you.
This is the perfect step to add powdered spices so that it’s able to be incorporated really well.
Sometimes spices can be hard to mix in, they like to separate. But because the blackberries are so thick, it mixes really well.
Add the rest of your lemonade, fresh lime juice and whiskey.
Use a bar spoon to stir and ensure that everything is mixed well.
How to serve
To serve this tasty whiskey and lemonade cocktail, use a strainer to strain the cocktail over fresh ice.
Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig.
If you want to make sure to get all the fruit bits out, you could also strain it through a fine mess sieve or cheesecloth.
The smell of fresh rosemary is intoxicating, amirite? Hosting girls night shouldn’t stress you out. But you can still make it feel special.
This lemonade cocktail looks all fancy but you saw how easy it is to make.
To some, this might be their introduction to whiskey. I promise they’ll be fans after sipping this drink.
