Bruschetta dip is one of my favorite easy appetizers that is full of Italian flavors! The fresh basil and all that garlic mean that this recipe has maximum flavor and only needs minimal ingredients.
You know a lot of my recipes are more like ideas than intricate step-by-step productions. And this is no differnet. Here we let delicious Boursin cheese do the heavy lifting as the main part of the dip and simply top it with bruschetta-style tomatoes.

This tomato and cheese appetizer dip can and should be made ahead of time. It will be ready well ahead of when your first guest arrives meaning you can instantly slip into hosting duties rather than feverishly wrapping up food prep.
Dips are my favorite because serving them is low-key and just needs a pretty serving bowl. It pairs well with wine or cocktails. Try it with an Aperol Spritz!

Ingredients
- Boursin cheese (garlic and herb flavor)
- Roma tomatoes, chopped
- Fresh basil, chopped
- garlic, crushed
- Sea salt
- Black pepper
- Olive oil
- Balsamic glaze
- Sliced baguette
I love using fresh tomatoes and basil with this recipe. They taste amazing and are essential to any good bruschetta.
The garlic and herb Boursin is also a must for a great bruschetta dip. It’s extra creamy and full of garlic flavor! Starting with store-bought flavored cheese keeps everything extra easy! They do have other flavors so you can use whichever sounds good to you.
I know some people don’t love balsamic so you can skip it if you prefer. I will say that a balsamic glaze is super sweet and is closer to honey than regular balsamic vinegar so give it a try if you are unsure. Trader Joe’s has one that isn’t too tangy.
I love to serve sliced baguette with most of my dips. But I really love to eat Boursin on Club Crackers so I would absolutely eat this dip with those too. You can skip bread altogether and serve it on sliced veggies if you prefer.

How to Make Bruschetta Dip with Boursin
Step 1
Spread the Boursin cheese in a serving dish or small bowl. You’ll want to use something shallow (like this white bowl) since you don’t want the cheese to be an extra tall layer. You could also just spread it out on a platter like they do with butter boards.
Step 2
Put the chopped tomatoes, basil, garlic, olive oil, and balsamic glaze in a small bowl and toss together.
*If you have time, you can let this tomato mixture sit so the flavors can really come together.
Step 3
Spoon the bruschetta tomatoes on top of the Boursin cheese. That’s it!
So easy.
Variations
This bruschetta dip recipe is versatile and it’s easy to put your own spin on it.
- Explore different cheeses – Alouette or another spreadable cheese can be used in place of Boursin in this bruschetta dip recipe.
- Make it spicy – Add a little extra kick to this bruschetta dip with some crushed red pepper flakes.
- Different Flavors – You can take this idea and run with it! Whipped goat cheese is huge right now, you can do this same idea with goat cheese (plus a little cream) then top it with anything that sounds delicious like bacon, chopped dates, rosemary and honey. YUM!
- Serve it like crostini – Would you rather serve an easy finger-food than a dip? Just make the dip and spread the cheese and tomatoes on a crostini (like I did with my Pimento Cheese Crostini). Serve them, ready to go, on a platter.
Top Tips
It’s hard to mess up this Boursin appetizer, but there are a few tips I think will help make it extra special:
- The Boursin will spread best when it has sat at room temperature for about 20 minutes. Right out of the fridge, it will be more crumbly than spreadable.
- It is best to spoon on the tomato mixture rather than pouring from the bowl. I like to do it this way to control the extra juices and liquid that accumulate from the tomatoes.
- To make this recipe even faster, you can use the ready-made Bruschetta topping from Trader Joe’s. It’s SO good and will save you from chopping. I would still add fresh basil.
Frequently Asked Questions
You can make this Bruschetta dip ahead of time. But you’ll want to keep the cheese separate from the tomato mixture until ready to serve. I think you can make the tomato bruschetta topping one day ahead.
This dip stores best if the cheese and tomatoes are kept separately. However, if that isn’t possible and you are trying to save leftovers, you can still keep it. Place any leftovers in an air-tight container in the refrigerator. It should keep for a day or so. You’ll need to be the judge. The tomatoes may release more liquid as they sit.

Boursin Bruschetta Dip
Ingredients
- 1 container Boursin Cheese (garlic and herb flavor)
- 1/2 cup tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 cup Basil, shopped
- 1 clove Garlic, crushed
- salt and pepper
- 2 tsp Olive oil
- 1 TBSP Balsamic Glaze
- Baguette, sliced
Instructions
- Spread Boursin cheese in a small serving dish or shallow bowl.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, chopped basil, crushed garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper into a small bowl. Toss together.
- You can use the tomato mixture immediately or you can let sit overnight for the flavors to marry.
- When ready to serve, spoon the tomato mixture on top of the cheese.
- Serve with sliced baguette, Club Crackers or sliced vegetables.
