Greek Yogurt Apple Dip Recipe with Vanilla and Cinnamon

This recipe for Greek Yogurt Dip will take tangy, bland Greek yogurt from disappointing into a delicious snack idea. With just yogurt, cinnamon and vanilla, you’ll be dipping your apple slices in no time!

Why This Apple Dip Recipe Works

I don’t like Greek yogurt. I’m not a fan of the tang. But it’s a great source of protein and makes a great snack idea for busy moms.

In an effort to not grow out of all of my clothes, I am really trying to make better food choices. Which means cleaning up my snacks as well as my meals.

By buying plain yogurt, you can jazz it back up with flavor without adding tons of calories and it has way less sugar than pre-flavored varieties.

This easy Greek Yogurt Dip for apple slices is one of my go-to snacks. And while it doesn’t taste as good as a piece of cake, it’s not half bad.

It’s super quick to make and also helps to curb my sugar cravings thanks to the natural sweetness of the apples and the way the vanilla and cinnamon flavor the yogurt.

My kids prefer this Chocolate and Yogurt Dip for fruit and this Apple Honey Dip over this Yogurt Apple Dip. But they’re just kids…

I like to buy the fat-free, plain Greek Yogurt in individual-sized containers. It does cost a little bit more, buying them this way instead of buying a larger container. A 5.3 ounce container has 80 calories and 4 grams of sugar but 18 grams of protein.

I am terrible at portions, so using these little cups is an easy way to keep that in check. But you can always spoon out a portion into a bowl if you prefer.

A tsp of vanilla adds 12 calories to the yogurt. And a tsp of cinnamon has 6 calories. That’s not bad. Even with the addition of the flavorings, it’s still a great healthy snack choice.

Cinnamon also has anti-inflammatory properties and is full of antioxidants also from what I hear. I’m not a doctor or nutritionist. But I read things.

You can add or take away any spices that you want. Cardamom, cloves and ginger would also be delicious in this yogurt dip.

I am obsessed with Honeycrisp apples (80 calories for a medium-sized apple) but you can use any kind of apples with this yogurt apple dip.

Step 1 (and done!)

To keep this snack super easy, I just add the vanilla and cinnamon right into the yogurt container and stir it up. It keeps me from dirtying another dish and makes this recipe super fast.

When the Yogurt Apple Dip is done, I just cut up an apple and it’s ready to go. It’s SO good!

If you are serving this recipe to a guest or at a playdate, I will usually put it into a nice-looking bowl. But if I’m just eating it at home, I’ll leave it in the plastic container the yogurt came in.

Greek Yogurt Apple Dip is one of my favorite, easy snack ideas that I don’t feel guilty about eating. It’s pretty easy to keep these items on hand so there’s not really an excuse for not choosing a healthy snack… (but I will still eat Doritos, from time to time, because the heart wants what it wants…)

Yes. You can make a larger batch by buying a 32 ounce container of yogurt. You will just add cinnamon and vanilla to the yogurt in a bowl and mix. Start with a TBSP of vanilla and 2 tsp of cinnamon and taste and adjust.
