What you need to make a Cinnamon Whisky Sour!

Fireball whisky is the main ingredient. It has slightly less alcohol than traditional whiskey. It is full of cinnamon flavor and a touch of heat that feels comforting.

Fresh lemon juice is a must in this drink. Bottled lemon juice or store-bought sour mix should be used in cocktail emergencies only.

A smidge of simple syrup will keep this yummy. The Fireball is already sweet, so you don’t want to overdo it.

Bitters make everything tastier, so a few dashes will do the trick to help round out all the flavors.

Large ice cubes or spheres will keep this drink cool in your glass without diluting it as quickly. (I didn’t have any ready to go so I used regular ice which is fine too).

How to Make a Fireball Sour

1. Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker

Add the Fireball liqueur, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.

2. Shake well

Add ice to the shaker and shake well.

3. Strain into the glass

Strain the Fireball Whisky Sour into a short glass with a large ice cube. (I had to use regular ice, no biggie).

4. Finish with bitters

Top with 2 dashes of bitters to add more depth of flavor. Give it a quick stir to incorporate.

5. Garnish

Add a cinnamon stick and/or a lemon peel for garnish. (optional)

If you don’t want to make your own simple syrup, you can use store-bought simple syrup instead.

Want to make this a little more holiday focused? Try using a little maple syrup instead. Or use another sweetener like agave or honey.
