If you’re looking for vodka recipes to make at home, this one is a sure bet. Plus a few little edible flowers on top make it pretty too.

Because that’s always what we look for in a cocktail, right?

My youngest son LOVES pears and he asked me if he could try some pear juice when we saw it at the store. And since I’m always looking for ways to get more fruits and veggies into my kids, I was all, sure!

I don’t usually drink juice because they are full of sugar (I know it’s natural sugar but still. I prefer to drink my sugar in the form of wine.) but I took a sip from his glass because it just sounded good, you know.

And it was good. Really good. So instantly I decided it should be part of a cocktail. Because that’s just how my mind works.

Why this Recipe Works

Martinis are super simple to make. They’re mostly vodka which can be a little aggressive for my taste. Flavored martinis are a great way to dilute the alcohol and add a delicious flavor (like this Blood Orange Martini!)

Sometimes people think pear cocktails are just for fall. But I really love them all year long.

The fresh lime juice really helps to keep the flavor of this Pear Vodka Martini Recipe light and bright and great for warm weather months.

Pear Martini Ingredients

Ingredients for pear vodka martini.
  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 3 oz pear nectar or juice (nectar is usually a little bit thicker)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 4 dashes bitters
  • edible flowers as a garnish, optional but super cute

Why You Should Add the Simple Syrup

I don’t typically add simple syrup to my cocktails because I tend to like things less sweet than the average person. But some cocktails just really come alive with a touch of sweetness.

That was absolutely the case with this one. Also, I love that you can buy it pre-made so you don’t have to make your own!

You can leave out the syrup but I always like to follow a recipe fully the first time I make it and then tailor it to my tastes when I make it the next time.

And the fresh lime juice and bitters really bring out all kinds of flavor. Don’t skip this part!

How to Make a Pear Vodka Martini

Pouring vodka for a cocktail recipe.

To a cocktail shaker (I LOVE this one from OXO!), add your vodka. I like to wait to add ice to the shaker until the very end so that it has less chance to start melting and diluting your drink.

Also, try to start with cold ingredients so you end up with a delicious, refreshing, frosty Pear Martini.

How to Make Edible Flower Drink Confetti

Making drink confetti with edible flowers.

Does your drink need flower confetti? No. But is it super cute? Yes!

You can buy edible flowers online but I find them at my local natural food store (Sprouts always has them!).

They’re in the refrigerated section near where the packaged herbs are. Each container is 99 cents and has about 10 flowers in different colors and sizes.

You can add the whole flowers to the drink and they look adorable as well. But I like to use kitchen shears and turn them into drink confetti.

You can also use them to rim a glass, like this rose petal rimmer idea. Or use edible fondant sheets to create another type of edible confetti

All you have to do is just sprinkle it on top. Edible flowers don’t have a ton of flavor (and what do they taste like? Floral-y) so they’re great with all types of cocktails.

They add such a fun pop of color.

Green Hope Organic Vodka Review

This time I used Green Hope Organic Vodka (they sent me this bottle for a cocktail post years ago and I still have some left so I decided to use it!).

I’ve heard that organic spirits tend to give you less of a hangover. But I could be totally wrong about that.

It’s made from corn and the smell is less in-your-face rubbing alcohol than some other brands I’ve tried. The smell actually reminded me of Colorforms but not in a bad way.

The taste, on its own, is pretty smooth (not a lot of burn going down) and while still neutral in taste, has quite a bit of flavor. I think this would be a good brand to use for those martinis and other cocktails that I mentioned above made up mostly of vodka.

This yummy Pear Vodka Martini is the perfect cocktail for your next happy hour at home! Most stores carry pear juice making this a quick and easy drink idea!
